GOALS Ecological goal: • To provide water in the amount required and at the precise moment to plants, by identifying the amount of humidity in their roots, during the photosynthetic process. In this way, water will be consumed only when the plant actually requires it. And the irrigation will be interrupted when the soil capacity is reached, when there is no light or when it starts to rain, thus avoiding the exhaustion and the lack of water in plants' roots and the loss of water, which occurs when plants are watered when no sunlight exists. Educational goal: • To promote the observation of the operation of a system that uses solar energy to improve the environment, when water usage is managed, in irrigation systems. Water is only applied during photosynthesis, which is the period when plants get nutritional products from the soil by means of the water in it. This tool will become a more efficient environmental and educational device. Environmental goal: • To promote the protection of underground water springs by identifying the changes on the amount of humidity of underground soil layers around the deposits of contaminating substances, which might enter and change the physical and chemical composition of the local hydrogeology. |
